Found! My Runaway Pets
The winds were blowing like a mini hurricane yesterday, all through the desert! The trees howling and whistling with every gust! Dust swirls fly in overhead, and if not careful into your eyes and other exposed body parts! Better bring in the pet family to keep the dust from their eyes and noses, right? Wrong! The padlocked gate swung open and away they broke, Spanky and Sparky! Ran after them, but the wind seemed to add horsepower to those rolling four legs! Could not catch them. They were gone with the wind!
After placing missing reports on the radio and the local animal shelter, took to the streets on car and on foot, combing the neighborhood to find the missing family members! Looked all around and no sign of Spanky and Sparky! Retreated to the home base and wait hopefully for a call with good news, while praying that the they would be safe through the chilly night!
Awoke this morining after a long and restless night, to begin the search anew! Followed up on the previous calls to the animal shelter, only to be told that there was no update on my babies! Before the next plan of search, the phone rang and it was the animal shelter! They “forgot” that someone had phoned in a message after closing, that there were two dogs found and were in their possession! Joy, Joy, Joy as we knew that these two found dogs had to be Spank and Sparky! Called up the party who found and put them up for the night, and YES, they fit the description and we barrelled out to get them!
They are home now, tired, hungry and celebrating their return. This is a happy ending and we are thankful to all who helped us get our babies back! Have you ever lost a pet?
