Natalie Cole, singer and daughter of Nat King Cole received a successful kidney transplant on May 19, 2009 according to her Natalie Cole website. Natalie is said to be resting comfortably from the kidney transplant performed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Ms. Cole announced that she had Hepatitis C in 2008 that she restated on “Larry King Live” in April 2009,

Cole said that she was diagnosed with hepatitis C in February 2008 and that she believes she became infected with hepatitis C from illicit drug use years earlier, though she didn’t know it. Cole is now sober.

While on the show, she stated that she was on kidney dialysis and the fans responded by offering to donate a kidney to her .

Before she finished telling King Tuesday night about her battles with drugs, illnesses and her search for a kidney, dozens of e-mails flooded the CNN studio.

They were all offers from people saying they would get tested to see whether their kidney could be donated.

King handed a thick stack of paper to Cole.

“These are all e-mails from dozens — dozens of people offering to be tested to see if they can match, who want to give you a kidney,” King said.

Cole stared at the papers for a moment.

“There are some great human beings out there. That’s all I can say,” Cole said.

You can watch the interview with Larry King below.

Natalie Cole may be able to leave the hospital next week as told to WebMD via email from her spokeswoman

At the time of the writing of this post, I have learned that Carole Cole, Natalie Cole’s sister died today, she was 64. So a bit of bitter and sweet days for Natalie Cole. Condolences to the Cole Family and wishing a speedy recovery to Natalie Cole.

Leave Rap music alone! Rap is an expression by some people about their life experiences and should only be expressed by the people who experience it! Do not blame rap for your children’s listening habits! It is a parent’s responsibility to supervise and rear their children!

In the case of younger relatives and friends’ children, they know that when they are in our prescence whether at home, hotels or car, rap music will not be played within earshot! It is not that rap music should not be played at all, but for young people of certain age groups, some lyrics are not appropriate for all ages. There is some hip hop music that is good music! Sure, there are issues with the portrayal of women in rap music videos, but we have to see where these depictions originate, so stay up on this blog!

It is up to adults again, to go back to being the voice of reason and monitor the young people of the village! This is the start of a discussion about communities where these influences and expressions come from! So stay tuned! Censorship is not good!
